In Britain, meanwhile, the game really blossomed after the war, growing particularly quickly throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s as Bingo halls sprang up all over the country and at all seaside resorts.

It then went into a gradual decline in the 80s and 90s, but the internet really brought it back to life again – and with the advent of sites like Jackpotjoy that really put the fun back into the game, it’s never been more popular.
